“Sophia"

Universal Mother

Sophia
is the wife and feminine counterpart of God the Father.
Here she is
adorned with Peacock feathers and markings.

The Peacock symbolizes prosperity, royalty, love, compassion, the soul, peace, wholeness, authority of self, and the expression of one’s own beauty.

The many eyes of the peacock feathers are a symbol of omniscience; representing the all-seeing.  12 is the number of completion through thought and 24 is completion through form.

The “OM” is written in Sanskrit around her face which represents the sound of creation. Bringing life into being.

The flowers in her eyes are the flower of life and the windows of her soul, meaning that her essence is embodied in this painting.

“Sophia” was donated to Sancta Sophia Seminary in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Teacher and Author Carol Parrish-Harrah.  Carol then used the paintings as the cover of her new book, “Sophia Sutras” released in August 2006.
